Eric Grorud is a Certified FocalPoint Business and Executive Coach. He works with professional service firm partners, owners, and emerging leaders to pursue their legacies through a focus on growth, balance, and team alignment.
Prior to joining FocalPoint, Eric worked in professional services as a Partner at Ernst and Young, where he was the Chief Operating Officer of the Digital Data and Analytics (DD&A) practice and the Lead Partner for the Advisory Consulting Program (ACP). He helped grow DD&A from 150 to 800 consultants and ACP from 300 to 1000 consultants. Other experiences include working as a Partner in IBM”s Global Business services, as the COO of International Consulting Associates, and as a consultant at Bain & Co.
Eric’s leadership roles have always involved coaching and mentoring his team. He believes the best leaders focus on creating future leaders. Some of his proudest moments have been seeing those he’s coached accomplish amazing things. In his past, there was never enough time to coach properly as this was just one of many responsibilities. As a full-time coach, Eric now focuses his total energy on working with amazing people to have an even greater impact.
A graduate of Dickinson College and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Eric is a father to two amazing boys, Dylan and Drew, and married to a fantastic wife, Debbie. He loves to travel internationally, ski, and hike with his family. When they aren’t traveling, Eric loves to follow soccer/football. The family has season tickets to the local MLS team, DC United, and Eric rarely misses watching an FC Barcelona football match.
